The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allocated around Rs15 million for water supply schemes.
A CDA official said that sufficient funds have been set aside for the maintenance of water supply lines to improve the water supply system in the federal capital.
“The civic agency is taking inclusive measures for uninterrupted water supply to Islamabad residents,” the CDA official said adding that the authority will fix dysfunctional tube wells and repair water supply lines.
He said Rs10 million has been allocated for repairing lines in sectors H, I, F and G series and Rs5 million to repair tube wells in Model Village, National Police Academy, Golf Course, Poona Faqiran and Sector H.
Similarly, he said that Rs1 million would be spent for the replacement of electrical equipment of various tube wells in the I-series sectors.
Likewise, he said, Rs5 million have been allocated for repairing tube wells in Sector H-8/2 and Rs3.5 million for repairing pipelines in Sector I-9.
A budget of Rs5 million has been allocated for the replacement of 3-diameter, 4-diameter and 6-diametre pipelines.
In addition, he said, a budget of around Rs5 million has been allocated for the replacement of 3-inch diameter lines in Sector I-10/1, while Rs9 million for replacing 10-diameter pipelines in Sector I-10/2.
