The Sindh Home Department has denotified Special Anti-Terrorism Court No2 Judge Nuzhat Ara Alvi upon recommendation of Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh.
According to the Registrar of Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice had written a letter to Home Secretary Sindh recommending immediate removal of Judge Nuzhat Ara Alvi of Special Anti-Terrorism Court No2.
According to the Sindh High Court (SHC) Registrar, Alvi was appointed as Judge No2 of Special Anti-Terrorism on August 10, 2021. During her tenure as the Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court No. 2, she had spoken harshly to MQM leaders and lawyers several times and had also issued arrest warrants for National Assembly member Qadir Patel.

She has also issued arrest warrants for former mayor and MQM-P leader Wasim Akhtar and others. Recently on March 26, Alvi had also issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for National Assembly Member, Qadir Patel, who has been named in the case of providing medical treatment to terrorists.
In one of the court hearings, she had also ordered Dr Asim Hussain to sit up from the first seat.
During another hearing, the judge also reprimanded public prosecutor GM Bhutto.
