Planting trees and renovation of parks are one of the priorities of the Sindh government, said Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab.

The Administrator said this at the inauguration ceremony of Urban Forest in Clifton on Sunday. The third Urban Forest was inaugurated on Sunday in Clifton, named after Mrs Deena Mistri for her 60 years of outstanding service in the field of education.

"In the present circumstances, public and private partnerships are the best way to complete many unfinished projects," he said. PPP South District President Khalil Hoot, General Secretary Karamullah Waqasi, Director General Parks Junaidullah Khan, and other officials and local PPP leaders were also present on the occasion. "As the political temperature of this country has risen and so have the streets, open public spaces and gardens provide relief to the citizens during the summer," said the Administrator.

He said that planting trees and renovating parks are one of our priorities. He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is playing his role to fix the political temperature. Wahab said that the Sindh government is trying to reduce the effects of heat through tree planting and urban forest.

The Administrator said that thousands of plants have been planted in this one-acre urban forest, which is being opened for the people of Karachi. Reading Corner and Tea Corner have also been set up in the urban forest.

He said that the park is named after a great lady Mrs Dina Mastri, who spent 60 years of her life educating the children of Karachi and all her life for the education and training of our generation. He said that the work for the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board in the Central District will be started in the next one month to provide relief to the residents of Karachi.
