Two alleged robbers killed in exchange of fire

Newly-elected Tehsil Nazim Haripur, two women also injured during exchange of fire

Two alleged robbers were killed while four others suffered injuries in an exchange of fire between two rival groups in Bhoti Pind in the limits of Wah Cantonment Police Station on Saturday.

Police said that newly-elected Tehsil Nazim Haripur Saimullah Khan and two women were also injured during the exchange of fire.

The tehsil Nazim was holding a “reconciliation” meeting between the two groups of gangsters. Sources said that the reconciliation meeting was being held between two notorious gangs’ ring leaders Hamza alias Ranga and Danish.

During the meeting, members of the two rival groups exchanged after exchanging hot words. Hamza alias Ranga and Danish were killed on the spot while four others were injured. The other injured were identified as Khista Gull, the tehsil Nazim’s gunman, Hajira Bibi and Rabia Bibi. The injured Nazim who sustained a bullet wound in his face was shifted to Pakistan Ordnance Factories hospital Wah where his condition is stated to be critical.

The other injured were rushed to the tehsil headquarters hospital Taxila from where they were shifted to district headquarters hospital Rawalpindi.

According to police, Hamza alias Ranga and Danish were notorious gangsters – who were the symbol of terror in the area.
