Several ceremonies to express the renewal of resolution and spirit of patriotism were held in the provincial capital on Wednesday.
At least two cycle rallies were held in the city. At least 400 students participated in the cycle rally and marathon race. Lahore Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman was the chief guest for the event.
The other event of cycle rally was held at Minar-e-Pakistan. Major cycling clubs of the city participated in the event. They held around the Greater Iqbal Park. The commissioner also participated in it. Speaking on the occasion, he said this was the day to renew our resolutions for the service of Pakistan. He added that this country had been formed by the tireless efforts and great sacrifices of our leaders. “We need to show the same resolve to protect its integrity and sanctity.”

A ceremony was organised at Punjab Safe Cities Authority Head Office also. The national flag was hoisted by Operation Commander PPIC3 SP Muhammad Asim Jasra. Police communication officers and other staff members participated in the ceremony and recited the national anthem.
A 90-day remission was also announced by the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi on the occasion.
Over 80 inmates were released after getting relief from the announcement.
Over 437 inmates also benefited from the announcement.
