An active political worker and member of Awami National Party (ANP) was gunned down by unidentified attackers in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Tuesday.
Police told The Express Tribune that Musawar Dawar was a candidate in local government elections from his village Haider Khel and he was a political and social activist.
“He was present in the Mir Ali Bazzar when unidentified bike riders opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.
The death of a popular political worker highly enraged local residents. His uncle Malik Gul Saleh was also attacked in the past but he escaped unhurt.
In South Waziristan two dead bodies were recovered from different areas. In Och Khwar area the dead body of a local Javed was found who had been tortured to death. His bike was also parked nearby which was taken into possession by police.
Similarly, a headless body was also found in Barmal area. The identity of the body was established by local from his cloths who was a identified as a local Gula Khan.
Police took both the bodies into custody and sent it for autopsy.
