Two pilots martyred as PAF trainee aircraft crashes near Peshawar

Inquiry into the incident has been ordered to determine the cause of the incident, according to an official statement

Two Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilots embraced martyrdom after trainer aircraft crashed near Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a routine training mission on Tuesday.

“No other loss of life or property was reported on the ground. A Board of Inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the incident,” the PAF said in a brief statement.

The ambulance and fire-fighting vehicles reached the spot and started the rescue operation after receiving the information, the Rescue 1122 spokesperson said.

In September last year, a PAF trainer aircraft crashed near Mardan during a routine training mission.

According to a statement from the PAF, a high-level board of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.

On August 6, another PAF aircraft crashed near Punjab’s Attock district during a routine training mission.

"Both pilots ejected successfully. No loss of life or property has been reported on the ground," a statement from the air force added.
