Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has congratulated the citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on the launch of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rawalpindi Ring Road, the Punjab chief minister said that the completion of the project will not only provide modern and better transport facilities to the people of the twin cities but also help uninterrupted traffic flow.
He said that according to the survey, after every five years traffic in major cities doubled.
He said that the PTI government got the pride of launching the Rawalpindi Ring Road project. He said that 38-kilometre-long Ring Road has six lanes and five interchanges and this project will cost Rs33.70 billion.
The contract of the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project has been awarded to FWO and this scheme will be completed in 24 months. The completion of the project will generate job opportunities for local people besides accelerating the commercial and economic activities, he said.
