Fazl, Shehbaz call on MQM-P convener
With the no-confidence motion date approaching on March 27, the opposition as well as government parties are bent on securing the head count.
A day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders held a detailed meeting with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) ledership, the top leaders of the opposition called on the party that has seven seats in the National Assembly.
Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at his residence at the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad.
According to a statement issued by the MQM-P Bahduraba office, the meeting lasted for more than an hour.

Opposition leaders and Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui discussed the overall political situation in the country. Opposition leaders in the meeting included former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif, Ayaz Sadiq, Saad Rafique, Ahsan Iqbal, Maryam Aurangzeb, Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and others.
MQM-P Senior Deputy Convener Amir Khan, Member Coordinating Committee and Federal Minister Syed Aminul Haq, Member Coordinating Committee and MPA Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Javed Hanif, Former Member Provincial Assembly Sanjay Parwani and Sadiq Iftikhar were also present.
A day earlier a delegation of Balochistan Awami Party had visited the MQM-P convener.
