Govt boys school faces teacher shortage

Only one teacher available for 150 students from Classes I-V

HAZRO:

The Government Boys Primary School Pirdad Hazro is facing an extreme shortage of teachers as only one teacher is responsible for an astounding 150 students.

Despite this major crisis, the officials of the Attock Education Department are not paying any heed to the issue.

Students from Class I to Class 5 are all being taught by the same teacher. This situation has disrupted the education of all students. Local citizens have already filed complaints with top officials of the Attock Education Department, but no immediate measures have been taken.

Haji Mubaris Khan Alizai, a renowned lawyer in the area, said, ‘Even in this modern age, our area is being kept in darkness by the officials of the Education Department. While the Government of Punjab is taking practical steps for the promotion of education in other parts of the province, the shortage of teachers is ruining the children's future in Hazro. This is a condemnable situation,” he added.

Several parents have protested against the incompetence of the Attock Department of Education and demanded an immediate appointment of the teachers at the school.

Meanwhile, police arrested two suspects for snatching motorcycles from people at gunpoint in Hazro.

Police said that the robbers deprived Yasir Abbas of his motorcycle when he was on his way home from Kamra.

The resident of Kamalpur Musa informed the police that he worked abroad but was in Pakistan to meet his family.

The robbers snatched his motorcycle at gunpoint near Shamsabad, he said, adding that the suspects also got away with his cash and mobile phones.

The police registered a case against them on Abbas’s complaint.

ASI Muhammad Waheed traced the suspects and arrested them.

They were identified as Latif Hussain and Saeed Khan. Both of them were residents of South Sargodha.

Attock DPO Rana Shoaib Mahmood said that “there is no place for criminal elements in Attock and they are trying their best to make Attock a crime-free city.”
