Opposition no match for PM, says Buzdar

Expresses confidence government will complete tenure

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar asserted on Wednesday that the opposition could not face Prime Minister Imran Khan even after uniting.

He was speaking to more than 30 members of the national and Punjab assemblies who reiterated their support to him and the prime minister.

The lawmakers who met the chief minister reportedly included those linked to the Hum Khayal, Tareen and Aleem groups as well ad the PML-N.

The chief minister maintained that PM Khan had made the nation learn to live with respect and self-esteem.

He stated that the no-confidence move was a number game and the ruling PTI enjoyed clear majority. He asserted that the PTI government would complete its tenure no matter how much the opposition indulged in conspiracies against it.

He claimed that the opposition was desperate to attain power, but would continue to face desperation in this regard. The chief minister vowed not to let the strengthening economy be put at the mercy of what he termed negative politics of corrupt politicians. He maintained that politics was meant to serve the masses instead indulging in conspiracies.

He claimed that the PTI government had shown performance which the previous governments could not do in 30 years.

The chief minister outlined that the assembly members were his colleagues who were standing by him. He said he had worked day and night to serve the people and the assembly members fully supported him. He said the government had launched a historic development programme and District Development Package in the province.

He alleged that the opposition, in order to conceal its failures, was trying to create political chaos in the country.

He vowed to foil every conspiracy of the opposition with the help of the people.

The chief minister underscored that he believed in adopting gentle and courteous norms in politics.

The opposition had no plan for welfare of the people, he claimed.

He asserted that elements opposed to progress could not mislead the people by propaganda. He expressed confidence that every effort of the opposition to create anarchy in the country would fail and the journey of progress under the leadership of PM Khan would continue.

The chief minister said the planned long march of the Pakistan Democratic Movement was a futile activity.

He said the country could not afford political confrontation in the prevailing global situation. Those trying to create political chaos and anarchy in the country will face embarrassment and humiliation The chief minister alleged that the opposition leaders were launching marches in order to save their ill-gotten money.

He claimed that the opposition could not comprehend the political vision of PM Imran Khan. The chief minister said progress and prosperity were the rights of the people of every city. The PTI government has launched the Rs360 billion District Development Package to ensure equal progress of every area.

He said the PTI government had not indulged in victimisation of anyone nor would it do so. Chief Minister Buzdar remarked that a no-trust move against the opposition had already been initiated with the holding of historic public meetings by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He stated the negative politics of the opposition had gone into “quarantine” because of the public welfare politics by the prime minister. “The dreams of the opposition will never be fulfilled and we will not allow anyone to create hurdles in the course of public service,” he added.

An official statement disclosed that more than 155 legislators from various groups had met Chief Minister Buzdar over the past five days. They reposed their trust in PM Khan and CM Buzdar while showing the commitment to foil the no-confidence move.

The chief minister said the people had given a five-year mandate to the PTI.
