ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Sports Complex is in dire need of maintenance. Amongst other problems the most troubling is seepage of water in walls and roofs which could result in collapse of the Jinnah Stadium, according to an official source.

“A number of significant upgrades to the Liaquat Gymnasium and Jinnah Stadium are required to ensure the buildings are as user friendly as possible,” said an official of the Pakistan Sports Board.

The basement of Liaqat Gymnaisum has been flooded with water several times, and Pakistan Sports Board should take notice of this problem before it becomes a “dumping ground”, the official added.

The official added that the state of the complex does not leave a good
impression on visitors, who come to participate in regional and international competitions.
