After model Manal Saleem dished out her ordeal of an encounter with actor Sana Javed on social media and the latter retorted with a legal notice, presenting a counter narrative of her own, makeup artist Syed Hussain has come forward as an eyewitness to divulge his version of what went down at the studio where the celebs were called in for a shoot.

Taking to Instagram, Hussain, who allegedly witnessed the whole event firsthand, wrote, “Hey respected readers, I am here to give an official statement on the current situation which is creating an unwanted hype all over social media in regards to model Manal Saleem and actress Sana Javed.”

He went on to assure that since he was the “only makeup artist” for both celebs on the day the [said] incident happened, “as well as an eyewitness,” he stands with the truth, “which is that there was only one makeup artist and only one room,” allocated to all models for their makeup, during the whole shoot. “Manal came to the shoot first and I was doing her makeup when Sana arrived." he recollected

"She [Javed] asked for Manal to be removed from the room. Manal left and my assistant completed her look. In the middle of the shoot Sana interrupted Manal’s shots upon which Manal protested and Sana responded with harsh words. And yes, I heard Sana call her manager and while on call, say, 'Mat bulaya karo mujhe do takkay ki models ke sath shoot karne (Don’t call me to shoot with cheap models)'."

After corroborating Saleem’s account, he went on to condemn Javed’s said behaviour, “Being a part of this industry I strongly condemn such behaviour, whether it’s from a junior artist or a known celebrity. No one has the right to humiliate anyone.”

The past few days have seen numerous similar accounts pile up against Javed, with a handed few going in her favour. While the likes of renowned figures like Nadeem Baig and Fahad Mustafa, found the Khaani star to be “completely professional” and “extremely humble,” starlets like Hira Umer and Ellie Zaid, who played Javed’s friends in Aye Musht-e-Khaak, could swear otherwise. Even actor Sonia Mishal, who is currently riding high on the success of Sinf-e-Aahan, slammed Javed for serving legal notices to co-artists for apparently running a “proper planned smear campaign.”

Mishal alleged that Javed left a drama she was co-starring with her on, midway, after several weeks of shooting and getting numerous makeup artists fired. Reportedly, the drama was Neeli Zinda Hai, that went on to star Urwa Hocane. “Since she [Javed] was the ‘bigger star’, all her concerns were taken care of, she got all [makeup artists] replaced and eventually left the project, leaving us with days of reshoot.”

It appears taking legal action isn’t proving to be as efficient in containing the number and kind of allegations that are continually pouring in against Javed, with corroborating accounts that don't really go in her favour. But here's hoping the truth prevails and the real victim(s) are brought to justice.

Aziz | 2 years ago | Reply Unprofessional attitudes at studios to say the least making an issue and legal notice out of nowhere. I can only think of one obvious solution don t let them go thru this make up exercise for Indian drama style environments in our dramas and let our own culture be depicted where 70 percent is pure rural that way they won t have to go thru this ordeal of having to make up and all.
