KARACHI:

The case against Dr Asim Hussain for allegedly providing medical care to injured terrorists has weakened further due to missing witness. While the Sindh High Court has sent the case back to the lower court after the prosecution withdrew names of five witnesses, one of the remaining witnesses went missing.

The Special Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered the Police DIG Muqaddas Haider to find the witness and present him in the court. The case related to the treatment of terrorists was heard before the Karachi Special Anti-Terrorism Court.

The Rangers lawyer Rana Khalid said that the key witness in the case was missing. The court ordered police to produce every witness in the case.

The investigating officer of the case, SP Altaf, said that an attempt was made to find the witness, but we could not find him. Give us time to find the witness. The court was furious with the investigating officer. The court summoned the DIG for the explanation.

On the court's order, DIG Muqaddas Haider appeared in the court. The court directed the DIG to find and present witnesses in any case. The court was furious over the absence of MNA Qadir Patel in the case. The lawyer said that Qadir Patel was in Islamabad and had back pain. The court remarked that Qadir Patel should be produced in any case. The court ordered that if Qadir Patel could not come on foot, then bring him on a stretcher. The court adjourned the case till March 16.
