Unfilled Promises: 30th day of strike

ISLAMABAD:

The young doctors of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Thursday continued their strike in the Out-Patient Department for the 30th consecutive day demanding the government for a pay rise and service structure.

The Career Structure of Health Personnel notification was to be implemented from July 1.  But the authority had not fulfilled its promise compelling the young doctors to continue the strike, said YDA President Dr Sajid Abbasi Islamabad Chapter. He said the doctors are performing duties only in the Emergency Ward of the hospital, while services in other departments will continue to remain suspended until their demands are met.
