KARACHI:

A case has been registered in Steel Town police station against the incident of attack on PTI Sindh Vice Chairman and Sindh Assembly Opposition Leader Haleem Adil Sheikh's vehicle near Steel Town Mor. His media team was also allegedly assaulted.

The case was registered on the complaint of PTI local leader Ashfaq Raza. He stated, "on March 6, 2022, at 4.30pm, in front of Gulshan-e-Hadid, I was present in the reception camp of PTI Sindh Rights March when it was informed by phone that Haleem Adil Sheikh was coming to the camp with his media team. I arrived at the Steel Township Mor with my friends. I was just taking a turn when Haleem Adil's car was stopped by some people and forcibly moved to get Haleem Adil Sheikh's team out of the car and attacked his media team," he said.

The assailants were identified as Shaukat Korai, Saleem, Akbar Narejo and an unidentified man with a pistol in his hand. Some four or five others were also involved in the ambush, he claimed.

"Meanwhile, a Sindh government squad, deputed on the security of Haleem Adil Sheikh, arrived, who pushed the attackers back and then Haleem Adil Sheikh and his team were taken out." He requested that strict legal action be taken against the suspects by registering a case of assault, kidnapping, issuing death threats and fighting with Haleem Adil Sheikh's media team.
