RAWALPINDI:

Unidentified men shot and killed a woman in a car near Soan Bridge in the limits of Morgah police station.

Police said that there were five men on two motorcycles who opened fire at the car when the woman was traveling with her husband named Zahidullah.

The suspects sped away after committing the crime. The body was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Police said that they have registered a case against unknown men and they are looking into the case from every perspectives, including honour killing.

Meanwhile, a man died while seven others were injured when a car and a passenger van collided with each other on Adiala Road near Gorakhpur in the jurisdiction of Sadar Bairooni Police Station on Monday.

Police said that the motorist lost control of the vehicle due to speeding and collided with a passenger van.

After receiving information about the accident, Rescue 1122 workers reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

The Rescue 1122 spokesman said that four injured had minor injuries while three others were critically injured.

The vehicles were also completely damaged in the accident. Police have registered a case and recorded statements of the witnesses.

Traffic on the road has been restored by shifting the vehicles to the police station. Police said that further legal proceeding is under way.
