'Chacha Dakait' arrested with CCTV help in Karachi

Police recover a wallet, cash, a snatched watch, and a 12-bore sawed-off gun locally called kutta from his possession

Though no one would believe it that the humble looking Wazir Ahmed with his white beard would walk into a shop and say 'it is a hold up, give me all your cash' but the cops claim they have nailed the right man seen in the CCTV footage.

Boat Basin police arrested an elderly robber better known as "Chacha Dakait" and recovered a wallet, cash, a snatched watch, and a 12-bore sawed-off gun locally called kutta from his possession.

According to SSP South Ijaz Ahmed, the suspect was arrested with the help of CCTV footage.

SSP Ahmed said that the suspect along with his four accomplices had committed a robbery at a shop in the Khayaban-e-Shamshir area within the limits of Darakhshan police station.

The suspects had snatched away Rs410,000 in cash and other valuables from the shopkeeper at gunpoint. Chacha Dakait can also be seen in the CCTV footage wielding a desi kutta with his accomplices.

In the video, one suspect stood holding a weapon while the other suspect reached the counter. The middle-aged suspect picked up the handbag placed on the counter and went out threatening the shopkeeper. The elderly suspect can be seen inside and outside the shop in the CCTV footage.
