As the opposition moves towards a vote of no-confidence, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has confirmed that party leaders have barred their lawmakers from going abroad.

The party spokesperson said that PML-N members would not be a part of any foreign tour delegation nominated by the lower house’s speaker, rather everyone has been directed to stay in the country.

She also said that party workers have been stopped from travelling abroad at the expense of the people to the high prices. She noted that people have died due to inflation and unemployment, and the government is planning official tours, thus wasting tens of millions of rupees.

“We hope that sensible members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will refuse to be a part of these visits,” she added.

Sources said that the decision has been taken in view of the possible no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan next week.

On the other hand, a meeting of the PML-N’s parliamentary party has been convened in Islamabad on Monday.
