RAWALPINDI:

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to host a "Jashan-e-Baharan Mela" (Spring Festival) from March 18 to March 23 at the Allama Iqbal Park in Rawalpindi.

There will be a craft exhibition, a flower show, a sports fest, and various folk song competitions. The sports gala will be held in Rawal Park, where all sports competitions will be held.

Further, folk artists hailing from Punjab will perform at the festival, to highlight the culture of the province. Indigenous food stalls from all constituent units will also be on display during the festival.

The event will serve as an opportunity for the youth to become aware of the culture, handicrafts and food of the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Previously, the festival was canceled due to the pandemic. However, it will be held this year, PHA Chairman Asif Mehmood said.
