Consumers complain about excessive billing

ISLAMABAD:

Consumers raised the issues of electricity cogeneration, industrial connections, dedicated gas line connections, excessive billing, meter connections and tempering at a public hearing held by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

Issues related to new gas connections and projects, use of natural gas for industry and not for households, meter replacement policy, SME sector, lifting ban on new connections, additional security, and need for more advanced metering systems were also highlighted.

The public hearing was held at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). It was attended by the senior management of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), domestic, commercial and industrial consumers as well as the business community.
