COAS urges youth to join LEAs

Gen Qamar visited Turbat and given detailed briefing on security situation and border management, says ISPR

RAWALPINDI:

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday encouraged the youth of Balochistan to join law enforcement agencies and contribute towards the security and stability of the area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.

The COAS visited Turbat where he was given a detailed briefing on the security situation of Balochistan and border management measures, according to the military’s media wing.

He appreciated the morale and operational preparedness of the troops and expressed satisfaction on successful operations against terrorists.

Later, during his visit to the University of Turbat, General Bajwa had an interactive session with local leaders, notables, tribal elders, students, lawyers and women from Kech district, the ISPR said.

He said that the youth of Balochistan was talented and urged them to capitalise on the available opportunities being created for their education and skill development.

The COAS encouraged the youth to join the law enforcement agencies and contribute towards the security and stability of the area, the ISPR said.

He reiterated that peace and prosperity of Balochistan was the top priority and that Pakistan Army would ensure peaceful environment for population centric socio-economic projects in the province.

He noted that the people of Balochistan had rendered sacrifices for the development and stability of the region, adding that true potential of the province would be realised through comprehensive national effort.

Earlier, on his arrival, the COAS was received by Quetta Corps Commander Lt General Sarfraz Ali.
