The first lady said women should be made part of the government's socio-economic policy so that they could contribute significantly to the economic uplift of the country.

She said Begum Raana Liaqat Ali Khan had laid the foundation of APWA for welfare, education and support to women. The association was contributing a lot to raising awareness about women empowerment and their rights to live in the society with dignity and self-respect.

She said efforts pertaining to women rights and empowerment in Punjab were more intensified than other provinces.

She urged the women to work as a team with dedication to contribute in all fields of life and said the government was also taking comprehensive steps for their empowerment and rights, stressing that they should play their role in the country's progress by observing their core values.
