Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) founding leader Saeed Ahmed Hashmi has said that a well thought-out strategy is needed to engage disgruntled elements in the province as the use of force would lead things to nowhere.
“The restoration of public trust, elimination of economic backwardness, provision of education and health facilities and devolution of power to grassroots level is the only way to resolve the decades-old issues of the Balochistan province,” Hashmi said while talking to the media persons at his residence on Saturday. He said that it has been evident from the experiences that Balochistan’s issues could not be resolved at gunpoint.
“The use of force has further complicated matters in the province which cannot be addressed only through so-called packages, rather it demands a well thought-out strategy to engage disgruntled sections,” he added.
“If we really want to bring Balochistan into the mainstream, then besides focusing on socioeconomic development, the government should ensure the recovery of the missing persons.”
