ISPR says weapons and ammunition recovered from killed terrorist

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA/ NORTH WAZIRISTAN:

A terrorist was killed on Saturday in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Spinwam, North Waziristan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The military’s media wing stated that the terrorist was killed during an intense exchange of fire. Furthermore, “Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist,” the statement read.

The report went on to add that the killed militant was involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.

The ISPR stated that the local people of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.

On February 24, security forces killed seven terrorists, including one belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in two separate operations in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

In K-P, according to the ISPR, security forces launched an operation in the Hamzoni general area of North Waziristan district after it received reports of terrorists hiding there.

The ISPR said that during the intense exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed. They were identified as Muhammad Ali, Mateeullah, Muhammad Umar, Akhtar Hussain, Sher and Waseem.

The military’s media wing added that weapons, ammunition and other equipment were also recovered from the hideout of the killed terrorists.

Ammunition recovered included submachine guns, hand grenades, mines, handcuffs, and a large number of multiple calibre rounds.
