Govt school gets digital library

Library was funded by the district administration

Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon on Thursday inaugurated digital library in St Xavier Govt Lower Secondary School Saddar.

The Library was funded by the district administration. The school established in 1894 continues to serve the people of the city.

On the occasion, Mumtazul Imam Scholarship was also launched under Dr Mumtazul Imam Society.

Memon paid rich tribute to Dr Mumtazul Imam for his unmatchable service in the field of education. "I'm fortunate that Dr Imam was my teacher," Memon said and recalled the easy methodology and teaching skills of Dr Imam.

He said that technology is growing at faster pace and he is making long term efforts for sustainable change in government schools so that the coming administration of the city could carry it forward.

Nadeem Sheikh Advocate of the Justice Helpline said that project of improving the infrastructure of 100 government run schools in the city would be kicked off soon. He added DMC Primary School Saddar was functionalised again after 11 years with funds released the by district administration.
