Tom Holland, Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield bring the Spider-Man meme to life

During promotions, the web-slinging trio recreated the meme to fans’ delight

They really did it! Those who watched Spider-Man: No Way Home in cinemas were pleasantly surprised to see Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire unite with Tom Holland as alt-reality Peter Parkers. While the film depicted the iconic Spider-Man meme in the post-credits scene, the highly-anticipated recreation, starring Tom, Tobey and Andrew, just dropped!

For promotions of the digital release of the latest Spider-Man movie, Sony and Marvel released an image of all three Peter Parkers in their respective Spidey suits pointing at each other.

The studio took to Twitter earlier this week and wrote, "And now, for the moment we've all been waiting for…" Now, whether the “moment” was the home release information or the meme, the recreation was a major hit amongst fans.

Marvel also separately tweeted sharing the iconic image and wrote, “Of course, we got THE meme,” while adding the digital release information.

The original meme is based on an image from the episode Double Identity from the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon. In it, the wall-crawler comes face-to-face with a Spider-Man copycat. The scene has sparked many variations, including one from the makers of 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, who offered their own take in the end credits of the movie.

The film will debut on Disney+l in a month on March 22 and on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on April 12.
