The government is paying special attention to promoting industrialisation to create employment opportunities and enhance exports, said Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Chairing a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the planning framework for national development and systemic reforms, the prime minister said it was for the first time that the government had opted for export-oriented planning.
“Skilled youth and manpower, tourism and overseas Pakistani investors are the key to Pakistan’s economic development,” he said. “The government is also motivating Pakistan’s foreign missions to play their due role in enhancing exports.”
Participants of the meeting were briefed on the government’s five-year development planning framework and reforms. Following implementation of the reforms, special attention would be paid to the development of industrial and export sectors, employment opportunities and increasing the per capita income.
The meeting was told that while introducing the reforms, Pakistan would not only consider the viewpoint of international experts but would also take into account the changing scenario of the international market.
