Phenomena by Pomme, celebrating its 10 years, presented an art show honouring masters and pioneers of the modern-day Pakistani art movement. The show opens with a Grand Tribute to the Master Artists; Ismail Gulgee, Sadequain and Jamil Naqsh. Based on gender-sensitive theme "Zenana Mardana," the art exhibit is under way at Frere Hall Sadequain Gallery till February 24.

Orchestrated by Pomme Amina Afzal in collaboration with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Culture Department, the exhibition brought together several legendary artists of the Fine Art world and their works including Amin Gulgee, Abdul Jabbar Gul, RM Naeem, Sanki King, Imran Qureshi, Mehr Afroze, Nahid Reza, Sayeda Habib, Xandria Noir, Nazia Ejaz, Affan Baghpati and the unparalleled mastery of the likes of RM Naeem as the heavens above are adorned by the very hands of the legend Sadequain.

As per Pomme Amina Afzal art is the single richest phenomenon that distinguishes different aspects of a culture. Art has always served as a strong medium to convey a personal impression, tell a story or relate a message.

The movement behind gender equality has grown tremendously in the last decade, male and female dynamics have gone from segregated to integrated. The role models have changed and there is a Zenana and Mardana to all of us. The art show embraces the subject of gender equality where artists showcase their work and vision of what Zenana Mardana means to them.

Haroon | 2 years ago | Reply This reporting erroneously excludes the name of Mr Jimmy Engineer who was one of the key participants in this exhibition. I am sure it is not deliberate but artists are sensitive people and such mistakes do hurt those who made an effort for this show as they could feel as though they were deliberately ignored.
