Tender issued for technical college

The Building Division Executive Engineer has issued a regular tender for the construction of a new technical college in Kotli Sattian.

The project will be completed with approximately Rs624.42 million. The cost accounts for the technical college building, a boys hostel, workshops of all the technical departments, and laboratories for practical education and classrooms. The tenders will be opened on March 14.

The building will have three storeys, for which, the Punjab government has provided land for the building. It will be the first official technical college in the Rawalpindi district. The technical college will provide practical training and diplomas and degrees in all technical fields, including computer literacy, welding, electrical knowledge and electrical engineering. Additionally, short courses in welding and the electrical fields will also be offered to the illiterate youth of the district.

Member National Assembly Sadaqat Ali Abbasi said that this college would offer technical training in all fields, which would help supply skilled youth to factories across the Rawalpindi division.

Easy employment opportunities will be created, he added.

This technical college will be completed in a year, Abbasi said. He added that new classes would begin in 2023.
