Two men attempt to ‘gang-rape’ girl in Lahore's sports complex
Two men allegedly attempted to gang-rape a girl in Lahore's Nishtar Park Sports Complex on Friday, police officials said.
According to the first information report (FIR) registered at the Gulberg Police Station, the girl forgot her way back home. As she entered a deserted and dark street, she saw two men.
As per the complaint, she asked the two persons for help reaching Ferozpur Road. However, the suspects misguided her and allegedly sexually assaulted her as she reached a deserted place.
The police have registered the FIR on the victim's father complaint and are investigating the matter further.

The police registered the case under sections 376 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and arrested a suspect.
Section 376 says: "Whoever commits rape shall be punished with death or imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than ten years or more than 25years and shall also be liable to fine.
"When rape is committed by two or more persons in furtherance of common intention of all, each of such persons shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life."
The police also imposed section 511 of PPC which is used for the punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or shorter terms.
"Whoever attempts to commit an offence punishable by this code with imprisonment for life or imprisonment, or to cause such an offence to be committed, and in such attempt does any act towards the commission of the offence, shall where no express provision is made by this code for the punishment of such attempt, be punished with imprisonment of any description provided for the offence for a term which may extend to one-half of the longest term of imprisonment provided for that offence or with such fine daman as is provided for the offence, or with both."
Earlier this month, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by two of her neighbours in Lahore’s Mozang area.
According to details, the victim was alone at her residence when her neighbours Ehsan Ali and Hassan allegedly barged into the house, subjected her to severe torture and then sexually assaulted her.
Last year, the Punjab government decided to establish Rape Investigation Unit (RIU) at every police station level owing to an unabated rise in cases of assault in the province.
The unit would investigate rape, molestation and harassment cases only like the previously formed designated homicide and narcotics investigation units.
The government would deploy separate Investigation Officers (IOs) to probe into such incidents only.
