At a weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Asim Iftikhar told reporters that the prime minister would visit Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This would be the first official bilateral visit by an elected prime minister in 23 years.
Speaking to media in Pind Dadan Khan, the information minister also said that “the opposition cannot even prove its majority in Senate, the motion will face failure”, as he referred to the planned no-confidence move against the incumbent PTI government.

The information minister said the opposition parties with their “diminishing public support” were not in a position to topple the democratically-elected government through its long march on Islamabad on March 27.
Responding to a question on local body elections in Jhelum, the minister expressed hope that PTI would “clean sweep” the upcoming polls.
