Harassment and torture victim, Parveen Rind, is regularly ringing alarm bell, demanding safety, but police are averse of providing her security, said PTI MPA Rabia Azfar Nizami talking to the media at Sindh Assembly Building after the session on Monday.
Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women (PUMHS), Nawabshah, nursing house officer Parveen Rind was allegedly tortured for refusing illicit advances of the varsity's director.
Nizami reminded that Sindh High Court Chief Justice took suo motu notice of the case and the hearing was on Tuesday (today). "We demand that Rind should be provided foolproof security."
The PTI MPA drew the attention of the media and the people towards the apathy of the Sindh government and said that the victim wanted to narrate her ordeal to Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho, during her visit to the Nawabshah University. However, Pechuho brushed aside the wailing victim saying, 'ok I have listened to you, but you did not file a written complaint.'
