Police arrest culprit, seize murder weapon

RAWALPINDI:

A man stabbed a 12-year-old girl to death on Marble Factor Road in the limits of Rata Amral police station on Monday.

The culprit escaped after committing the crime, but later in the day, the police arrested him and confiscated the murder weapon.

Police said that the 21-year-old teacher named Adil from Abbottabad used to go Babrira Zahid’s house to teach her The Quran.

A few days ago, the girl's parents stopped him from teaching their daughter due to suspicion.

On Monday, when the girl went to the tuition centre, Adil also reached there and stabbed her neck with a sharp object, killing her on the spot.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot, collected evidence and shifted the girl's body to the hospital for post-mortem procedure.

Taking notice of the killing, CPO Umar Saeed Malik instructed senior police officials to reach the spot. SP Rawal Babar Javed said that the accused has been arrested along with the murder weapon. He added that evidence has been collected from the scene.

The SP said that the accused admitted that he killed the girl due to her family’s suspicion.

He added that they were investigating the case from all angles.

Woman killed for ‘honour’

A man stabbed his 22-year-old daughter to death in the name of honour at their house in Chakri area in the limits of Chauntra police station.

After receiving information about the murder, the police rushed to the spot and took the body into their custody. The suspect fled after committing the crime.

SHO Chauntra Yasir Mahmood said that Imtiaz killed his daughter Rizwana over suspicion of her having an illicit relation with a man. A case has been registered against Imtiaz and police are looking into the case.

Mutilated body found

Meanwhile, the mutilated body of a young man was found in a sack in the limits of Pirwadhai police station on Monday.

According to the police, some unidentified assailants threw the sack that contained the head, legs, and one arm of the young man near a bridge and fled.

Police said that the identity of the man and the motive behind his killing have yet to be ascertained.

Rawalpindi CPO Umar Saeed Malik took notice of the incident and demanded a report from SP Rawal. City DSP Chaudhry Athar Ali said as the body was into so many pieces it was difficult to identify the man. He added that there was an arm and a hand with the torso in the sack from which fingerprints have been collected and sent to NADRA for identification.
