Ali Sethi, Shae Gill's CS14 offering 'Pasoori' is bohemian and fresh
Coke Studio 14’s latest offering Pasoori, featuring Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, has won several hearts since its release with its joyful sound and colourful music video. With musical influences ranging from reggaeton to the soulful tunes of the rubab, Pasoori is fusion at its finest. Featuring lyrics about letting go of worries and accepting yourself for who you are, the song has garnered mostly positive reviews since the release of its music video on Monday evening.
The opening of the groovy track is elevated by a classical dance performance by the graceful Sheema Kirmani in the video, with Hashim Ali’s bohemian set fitting perfectly with the vibe of the song. According to a screenshot of a text message shared by Ali which appears to be from Sheema, the dancer says, "I did not want to go along the line of literal depiction of words, but [instead] felt that the movements should be abstract but suggestive of the emotions contained within the song and music."
Ali and Shae’s voices compliment each other beautifully, a perfect example of their vocal chemistry being the parts of the song where the two harmonise. According to the official press release, the song was a product of frustration, written by Ali after Pakistani artists were barred from working in India.
One fan wrote on Twitter about the song, "The duo of Ali Sethi and Shae Gill is so good to hear! Smooth voices with amazing music! Pasoori is a complete package." Another exclaimed, "This song is nothing but pure joy. Ali Sethi [has] such a soothing voice. The set and the music video is just so fantastic."

Ali Sethi and Shae Gill are amazing together. Special applause for the beautiful set and video as a whole. This was indeed real magic."
A user spoke about their reaction to the song, writing, "Pasoori has blown my mind! The music, the vocals, the moods that the melody goes through, the journey in the lyrics."
