A Supreme Court division bench, constituted to hear a case pertaining to the appointment of additional judges, was dissolved as one of the members recused himself from hearing the case.
The top court’s division bench comprising Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Yahya was constituted to hear a petition filed by Mian Sibghatullah Shah against the appointment of additional judges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
However, Justice Yahya recused himself from continuing to hear the case, breaking up the divisional bench.
Subsequently, the matter has been referred to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) for reconstitution of the bench.
