Police arrest two members of a gang of underage criminals

Accused, carrying weapons in their bags, used to leave home for coaching centre and commit crimes

Police have arrested two members of a gang of underage boys from Orangi Town.

According to police officials, five suspects were arrested during an operation in Iqbal Market area of Orangi Town. Three of the suspects are students and minors.

Four illegal pistols, two motorcycles and a stolen mobile phone were recovered from their possession. Cases have also been registered against the accused.

The suspects study in the same coaching centre. They used to leave their homes for coaching center and commit street crimes. The suspects also carried weapons in their bags.

The suspects include Owais alias Sufyan, Ahmed Raza, Mujahid Khan, Arman alias Jangal and Shah Mir Akhtar alias Adnan. Further investigation has been started from the accused.

Drug dealer nabbed

Police have arrested drug dealer Riaz in DHA and recovered more than 9kg of hashish from his possession. Case crime No. 85 of 2022 has been registered against the accused under section 6, 9-C of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act. Further investigation has been started.

Robbers arrested

During a police encounter in North Nazimabad, two dacoits were arrested in injured condition and two TT pistols, a mobile phone and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession. A policeman was also injured in the exchange of fire.

On the night between Friday and Saturday, two suspects were injured in an exchange of fire between police and armed robbers near Yadgar Fish in North Nazimabad Block F.

The injured robbers and the policeman were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The robbers were identified as Syed Ali, 25, son of Kamran, and Sikandar, 25, son of Surat Ali whereas the policeman was identified as Ali Raza, 26, son of Abdullah. The injured policeman was shot in the knee and hand and he is out of danger.

According to the police, the previous criminal record of the injured suspects was being checked. The weapons recovered from them will be sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.

The SITE Super Highway Police arrested four suspects in different operations and recovered stolen articles and weapons from their possession.

The SITE Super Highway Police arrested Muhammad Ejaz son of Dular Hussain, Azam son of Sultan Muhammad and Zawar son of Abdul Ghaffar after an encounter and recovered stolen articles and weapons from their possession.

According to police, the local staff of a Chinese company was travelling to DHA from Nooriabad. Their vehicle broke down near the Superhighway Byco Petrol Pump and the driver was checking the vehicle when three suspects riding a rickshaw came and started looting them. Meanwhile, the SITE Superhighway Police reached the spot. Seeing the police the suspects opened fire. After retaliatory firing, the police party strategically arrested the three suspects.

Meanwhile, in another operation, the SITE Super Highway Police arrested Meraj Ali, an accused involved in injuring a retired officer of Pakistan Navy for resisting a robbery.

According to police, Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza, a retired officer of Pakistan Navy, reached home on January 14 after withdrawing Rs5 million from a private bank. In the meantime, four armed criminals tried to snatch money from Mirza and opened fire on him on resistance and snatched away the money.
