PESHAWAR:

A joint forum of all the stakeholders has been established to look into the law and order situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) to ensure coordination among the civil and military entities.

The decision was taken in a meeting held on Friday with K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair.

The meeting took stock of the overall law and order situation in the province including Newly Merged Districts. The chief minister while expressing his concerns on the increasing incidents of terrorism in the province, directed the police department to make coordinated and concerted efforts under a well devised strategy to decrease terrorism.

The forum also discussed and reviewed various factors responsible for lawlessness in the province and took important decisions to improve the overall situation by taking action against criminals and miscreants elements.

The forum has decided to further strengthen the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and to expend it to the district level, and the police officials were directed to submit workable proposals to this effect.

The forum also agreed to constitute a joint forum of all the stake holders in order to ensure integrated efforts against terrorism in the province.
