Mercury falls after dust storm, rains in twin cities

Mercury has taken a tumble in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, after a dust storm and heavy rainfall lashed the twin cities.

ISLAMABAD: Mercury has taken a tumble in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, after a dust storm and heavy rainfall lashed the twin cities.

The storm uprooted several trees and billboards.

It was followed by heavy rains which lasted for almost an hour, providing much-needed relief from the scorching heat.

The Met Office has forecast dust storms and scattered rains in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad and Kashmir during the next two to three days.
