A man was murdered with his throat slit while sleeping at his cattle farm on Tuesday. Police have launched an operation to arrest the unidentified suspects involved in the brutal murder.

Reportedly, Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Qila Dewa Singh area near Okara, was sleeping at his cattle farm when the unidentified assailants broke into the cattle compound in the middle of the night. Police said unidentified assailants cut the flesh off the victim's neck and face.

The suspects made the face of the victim was so badly mutilated that it became hard to recognise and no flesh was left on the victim’s neck but bones. The suspects managed to escape from the scene. The police rushed to the spot on receiving information about the incident and launched search operation after gathering evidence.

The police shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities. A case was registered against the unidentified suspects on the basis of the complaint of victim’s nephew Javed Iqbal.

Crime cases in which victims were found brutally murdered with throat slit are not uncommon in the province. Last year, in January, the prayer leader of Shalimar Mosque, situated in Multani Colony in Lahore, was found dead with his throat slit.
