LAHORE:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday slammed the government over medicine shortage in the country.

In a statement, the former information minister said that non-availability of a pill commonly used to treat fever is “shameful” amid the surge in coronavirus across the country.

She took the government to task, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s administration has reduced employment opportunities for the country’s youth, medicine for the sick and fertiliser for the farmers.

She claimed that the government is constantly cutting economic power of the poor and is generating electricity from expensive furnace oil. Gas and electricity have disappeared from the country, and the only way Pakistan can achieve prosperity is by getting rid of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, she added.

Earlier in the day, the PML-N spokesperson said that urea shortage in Punjab is due to Prime Minister Imran’s “corruption”.

She said that farmers are facing problems despite sending hefty sums. She pointed out that delay in provision of fertiliser can lead to a severe wheat crisis in the country, she added.

She claimed that “Imran mafia” has turned farmers into “beggars”.
