FAISALABAD:

Employers, employees and government should make sincere and collaborated efforts to continue the welfare scheme, offered by the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), in a sustainable manner, EOBI Chairman Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo emphasised.

Speaking to the business community at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Thursday, Mangnejo said that employers who contributed lower amounts were just focusing on temporary relief.

He held the view that these employers would have to prop up their contribution in the end, which would add a sudden and excessive burden on their financial resources.

He asked FCCI to play its role in convincing local employers to pay their contributions which would be in the best interest of their workers.

On the occasion, FCCI President Atif Munir Sheikh said that Faisalabad “is the second largest city in terms of revenue generation and job creation”.
