SSP to head inquiry into Bholu’s murder
The Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) was directed to appoint an officer of SSP rank to conduct a transparent investigation into the murder of a local Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) activist Khalilur Rehman Khanzada Bholu.
According to a spokesperson of Sindh Police, IGP Mushtaq Mehar directed Additional IG IAB Farhat Ali Junejo to appoint an officer of SSP rank as an inquiry officer for conducting an impartial investigation into the murder of MQM-P activist Khalilur Rehman Khanzada Bholu within the limits of police station A-Section, District Tando Allahyar. He also suspended DSP Tando Allahyar Irfan Ali Shah and SHO Sub-Inspector Zahid Awan of police station District Tando Allahyar and ordered them to report to CPO.
The IGP mandated that if a police officer is found guilty in light of the inquiry, disciplinary action should be taken against him. In this regard, a comprehensive report for further necessary steps is to be prepared within seven days.
Tando Bhago SHO booked
Sindh IGP Mushtaq Mehar has taken notice of the protest of citizens against Tando Bago Police Station SHO Bashir Chandio on Talhar Road and the incident of road blockade.
IGP Mehar immediately suspended Tando Bago SHO and issued orders for him to report to the CPO. The top cop of Sindh assured that all legal measures have been taken against the errant police team and clear instructions have also been issued to carry out an impartial inquiry into the matter.
Protesters alleged that SHO Chandio tortured Wasim Talpur and threw him into the Channel Canal and that the said SHO is also involved in the enforced disappearance Talpur.
Following orders from top, an FIR was lodged against Chandio in the police station concerned as per the demand of the citizens.
