QAU points towards the trend of abandoning elderly

Young graduates walking out into the world were asked to remember the sacrifices of their parents in raising them and spending their time, energy, and income in educating them.

Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, speaking at the conclusion of the two-day convocation of Iqra University on Tuesday, said the responsibilities of children increase with time.

“When you were weak, and you were not able to look after yourself, there were people who looked after you, who took good care of you, who educated you, and who have brought you to this position, he said at the event that saw 650 Iqra students graduate.

Addressing the beaming graduates who were present with their parents and families, Dr Shah said reminded students to acknowledge the debt of their parents.

Dr Shah acknowledged the work of Iqra in producing quality graduates. Speaking at the event held under strict Covid SOPs, Sindh Minister for Universities and Board Muhammad Ismail Rahoo congratulated the students on their graduation and Iqra University for improving education in the country and making it available to all the citizens.

Four sessions were held on the second day of the convocation in total. Besides Dr Shah and Ismail Rahoo, Allama Iqbal Open University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ziaul Qayyum, Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab, and Pakistan Engineering Council Chairman spoke on the occasion Muhammed Najeeb Haroon.
