Victim was mother of five and worked at a textile mill

A mother of five children was stabbed to death by her husband in the city on Sunday.

Police took the body into custody for medical and legal formalities.

Reportedly, suspect Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Jhumra Road area of Millat Town, got married to the victim Nazia Bibi 10 years ago and they had five children.

The victim was a worker of private textile mill. A police official said the suspect had suspicions about his wife.

He said the suspect Mushtaq Ahmed had an altercation with his wife Nazia Bibi and out of anger he stabbed her with a knife and severely injured her.

The victim was rushed to Allied Hospital by rescue workers, where she succumbed to her injuries.

The police reached the spot on receiving information, shifted the body for postmortem and started a search for the suspect.

According to Millat Town Police Station SHO Rizwan Shaukat, the suspect Mushtaq Ahmed had suspicions about his wife due to which he her to death.

The SHO said an operation had been launched to apprehend the suspected murderer.

The province has witnessed a number of cases where woman were subjected to domestic violence by their husbands.

On Friday, a man threw acid on his wife out of resentment and managed to escape from the scene. Reportedly, the suspect had suspicions about the victim.
