Coke Studio 14’s latest track Sajan Das Na, featuring seasoned favourites Atif Aslam and Momina Mustehsan, premiered on television on Saturday, with the audio available for streaming on Spotify. The video is yet to be released on YouTube. The romantic pop number, produced by Xulfi and Abdullah Siddiqui, is reminiscent of a typical offering by both Atif and Momina.
Complete with the singers’ soft vocals, a decent beat and a fairly basic music video, the track does not offer much to write home about. After the back to back success of the season’s previous offerings, which include the musical powerhouse collaboration Tu Jhoom and Balochi hip-hop fusion track Kana Yaari, the lack of freshness in Coke Studio’s latest drop feels too pronounced. Sajan Das Na is far too formulaic to make any real impact.
While some listeners didn’t feel the song lived up to their expectations, several others took to social media to express their love of the track.
One fan spoke about missing Coke Studio's signature sound, writing, "I love love Sajan Das Na but does anyone else miss the musicality in Coke Studio? The intruments? I kind [of] do. Like, imagine Sajan Das Na, same melody, same vocals but the true Coke Studio kind [of] instrumental set up."

Another user reflected on the song's romantic nature, "It's drizzling here in Lahore and with that song Sajan Das Na by Atif Aslam and Momina making [the] rain more romantic."

The song, which premiered Saturday night, is yet to gain widespread traction on social media, due mainly to the fact that it has not been officially released via Coke Studio’s official YouTube page. Apart from a few posts on Coke Studio’s Instagram stories, there has not been much promotion for the song via the series’ official channels either.
