Donkey meat video turns out to be fake, say police

There was no evidence that donkeys were being slaughtered and their meat was being cut, says West DIG Nasir Aftab

Police arrested several people in connection with the alleged viral video of donkeys being slaughtered at an abandoned marriage hall near 4K Chowrangi in New Karachi. However, the video turned out to be hoax.

Meanwhile, West DIG Nasir Aftab told the media that there was no evidence that donkeys were being slaughtered and their meat was being cut there. However, a cow's head and other remains were recovered from the spot. When the report turned out to be a fake, police released the detained people, DIG Aftab said.

SHO Bilal Colony Nawaz Brohi said that a report was received on police helpline Madadgar 15 that some persons were slaughtering donkeys in the abandoned marriage hall near 4K Chowrangi of New Karachi.

However, when the police inspected the spot, some people were cutting meat.Police brought the suspects to the police station. The butchers told the police that they slaughtered a cow for the wedding party and were cutting its meat. The donkeys were tied the premises by donkey carts owners, and it had nothing to do with the meat they were cutting.
