Control room set up to facilitate tourists in Murree

The control room will be open 24 hours a day

The district administration has set up a control room in the deputy commissioner's office in Murree until January 25 to facilitate tourists during snowfall.

The control room will be open 24 hours a day and Headquarters Assistant Commissioner Anisha Hashmi has been appointed in charge of the facility.

Staff of the Punjab Police, Traffic Police, Rescue 1122, the Forestry Department, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Civil Defense and other departments concerned will also be present in the control room. Tourists going to Murree will be able to reach the facility at number 0519292963.

The district administration has said that according to the Meteorological (MET) Department, heavy snowfall is expected in the upper parts of the country for the next four to five days. After the advisory was issued by the MET department, the district administration ordered setting up a control room so that citizens could be assisted in time in case of any sudden calamity.

Meanwhile, the National Highway Authority(NHA) on Wednesday completed all arrangements for snow removal on Islamabad-Muzaffarabad dual carriageway.

Keeping in view, the rain and snowfall forecast in Murree by Pakistan Meteorological Department(PMD), NHA has dispatched required machinery and personnel to the most affected areas.

The Chairman NHA and relevant authorities were personally supervising the entire process.
