Four ‘robbers’ killed in alleged encounters

Suspects involved in various crimes held, weapons, stolen goods, cash recovered

Four dacoits were killed in alleged encounters while police in different operations arrested suspects and recovered weapons, cash, mobile phones and motorcycles from their possession.

An Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police party in the early hours of Tuesday killed two inter-provincial car lifters near Chilghazi Cut on Northern Bypass and arrested six others after alleged encounters in different areas of the city and Tuesday and recovered weapons, motorcycles and other stolen goods from them.

According to the AVLC SSP, the arrested suspects have been involved in snatching vehicles and trucks in Sindh.

Meanwhile, Malir City police arrested two suspects in an injured condition after an alleged encounter at Anwar Baloch Hotel in Maghzi Goth. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where they were identified as Javed Ahmed, 18, son of Jamal Ahmed and Junaid, 20, son of Jamil. Two TT pistols with five rounds, seven mobile phones, cash and a motorcycle were recovered from the arrested suspects.

Separately, a police party of AVLC arrested two accused in an injured condition after an alleged encounter in Ibrahim Hyderi. The arrested suspects were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

According to a spokesperson for Malir police, the arrested suspects were identified as Shahnawaz Abro, 25, and Ali Jinnah, 30, son of Najam Ali. Three accomplices of the arrested suspects managed to escape from the spot. A TT pistol, two snatched mobile phones, cash and two snatched motorcycles were recovered from their possession.

In another incident, Shah Latif police arrested an accused after an alleged encounter near Zafar Town Cemetery in Landhi. According to a spokesperson for SSP Malir, injured accused Zohaib, 27, son of Hamza Umar was sent to the JPMC.

Three suspects were fleeing on a motorbike after robbing a citizen when a police mobile of Shah Latif police station reached the spot and signaled them to stop. At this, the accused opened fire on the police party. The police returned the fire as a result the accused sitting on the back seat of the motorcycle got injured and fell from the motorcycle while his other two companions managed to escape along with the motorcycle. Weapons, ammunition, snatched mobile phones and cash were recovered from the arrested accused.

SITE Super Highway Industrial Area police killed two robbers during an alleged encounter and recovered weapons and a motorcycle.

Sachal police have arrested a dacoit in injured condition after an encounter near Sameera Chowk.
