KARACHI:

The PTI member of Sindh Assembly, Malik Shehzad Awan and others were charged in the case of entering a citizen’s house and torturing him and breaching the dignity of women.

West Judicial Magistrate summoned the prosecution witnesses for the next hearing on the plea of the accused. Suspects including PTI nominee Sindh Assembly member Malik Shehzad Awan appeared in court. The court indicted Malik Shehzad Awan and others.

Accused Malik Shehzad Awan and others denied the charges levelled against them. Other suspects nominated in the case include Muhammad Imran and Qaiser. The court summoned the prosecution witnesses for the next hearing. The court also issued notice to the investigation officer of the case.

According to the complainant’s case, on July 2, 2019, Malik Shehzad Awan entered my house along with his armed accomplices. The accused insulted my wife and daughter. Accused Malik Shehzad Awan hit my son with a Kalashnikov’s butt. Accused Malik Shehzad Awan is accused of threatening to withdraw the case. Police had registered a case against the accused at Madina Colony police station.
